Communications Manager
Lara Fu (she/her) serves as the Communications Manager for Community FarmShare. Born and raised in Montgomery County, Lara is passionate about building and supporting resilient local food systems — when she’s not growing food at home, she loves visiting farmers markets and agribusinesses in her community and around the world.
Prior to Community FarmShare, she worked in DC and New York in K-12 education, higher education, and legal services. She began her career at the Legal Services Corporation, the nation’s largest public funder of civil legal aid, where she staffed the Disaster Task Force and managed the Rural Summer Legal Corps.
Lara holds an MPA from New York University, a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an Honors Citation from the Gemstone Honors College Research Program. She was a member of Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics’ 2021-22 Impact Cohort and received NYU Wagner’s Robert Berne Award for Leadership. She lives in Montgomery County with her family and their rescue husky, Luna.
