Support local nutritious food for all…and those who grow it!
We are so fortunate in this region to be able to grow fruits and vegetables, and we have the capacity to grow more.
But we need YOUR help to make sure that this locally grown goodness reaches eaters of ALL income levels.
With food and nutrition insecurity at a high due to a variety of factors - along side the U.S. epidemic of diet related chronic disease - “it takes a village” to ensure that everyone in our community has enough to eat.
With your support, Community FarmShare can help more family farmers and reach more local families with nutritious, locally-grown fruits and vegetables.
Thanks to donors like you, this year (2023) we will reach over 1,300 residents each week, about 4oo residents through our Food is Medicine Program and 900 through our Farm to School Program. This means we purchased over 84,000 lb of fresh produce from local small scale fruit and vegetable farms.
With YOUR support, we can continue connecting food insecure families and individuals to vibrant, healthy food grown by Montgomery County family farmers AND help those small, local farmers grow their businesses which is truly the backbone of creating a resilient local food system for all eaters, and healthier communities.
Please Note: If you would like to dedicate your donation to be used towards a particular farm that we partner with (see Your Local Farms page), please indicate that on the drop-down on the donations page and we will be sure your support gets to the intended farm.
