Beauty Blooms Farm

Mt. Airy, MD

Beauty Blooms Farm website

Beauty Blooms Farm began from the longing for food systems change and a reconnection to my roots. Our produce and flower farm started with the loving support of my family members and friends as a 20×20 garden at home.

To celebrate cultural heritage through food, Beauty Blooms Farm provides certified naturally-grown, high-quality, culturally significant food and flowers to the D.C. Metro area. We envision a thriving community with full access to the food they grew up eating and a connection to their cultural heritage.

We are passionate about local food production and aspire to build a farm that centers around community, cultural heritage, and possibilities for local sustainable food systems.

Query Mill Farm

Darnestown, MD

In loving memory of Mark Israel, Farmer at Query Mill Farm -

Mark Israel, dear friend and farmer passed away on Nov 16, 2024. Mark lived a full life - dedicated to his family, friends, civil rights, community building, activism, nature, music and of course, his passion for farming. Mark was one of Community FarmShare's earliest enthusiasts who loved to grow vegetables sought and enjoyed by the community... special requests were heartily welcomed and were always harvested with great care. Mark farmed and ran his CSA for 40 years and then added on growing for Community FarmShare in 2021, planting and harvesting veggies for the community living at Tobytown, just down the street from his farm. He was greatly loved by all who shared his path.
